MileMatex ("we", "us") provides a mobile app that helps delivery drivers and dispatchers plan, navigate, and track delivery routes. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), plus preferences you set such as vehicle type, toll/highway avoidance, notification settings, and whether you've enabled Face ID/fingerprint unlock. We do not collect your name or phone number.
- Location — while you're actively planning or navigating a route, we use your device's location to calculate routes and your position on the map. While a route is in progress, we also request background location access so the app can automatically detect when you arrive at a stop. We store only the stop addresses and coordinates tied to the routes you create — we do not store a continuous location history or track you outside of active routes.
- Shipping label photos — when you scan a shipping label, the photo is sent securely to our text-recognition service to extract the address. The photo itself is not stored — only the extracted address text, which you review and confirm, is saved to your route.
- Route and stop data — the addresses, delivery order, and status of the routes you create.
- Push notification token — a device identifier used to deliver notifications to your device. It isn't combined with other personal information beyond your account.
- Subscription and payment information — purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see or store your payment card details. Our subscription management provider receives your purchase and subscription status, tied to an anonymized organization identifier, not your name or email.
- Support and account emails — we use your email address to send account-related messages (email verification, password reset, receipts).
How we use this information
We use the information above to operate the app: planning and navigating routes, detecting arrival at stops, processing subscriptions, sending account-related emails, providing customer support, and keeping accounts secure. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
Third-party services we use
- A cloud OCR service, to read text from shipping label photos (photos are not retained afterward)
- A mapping service, to calculate routes, geocode addresses, and display maps
- A subscription management provider, to process and validate App Store/Play Store purchases
- An email delivery service, to send account-related emails
- Push notification services (Apple and Google), to deliver notifications to your device
Each of these providers only receives the specific data described above, and only to perform the function we use them for.
Where your data is stored
Account and route data is hosted on servers located in Canada, in line with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).
Data retention and deletion
We retain your account and route data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, or by contacting us at the email below — this permanently removes your profile, route history, and associated data from our production systems.
Children's privacy
MileMatex is a business tool for delivery drivers and dispatchers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at the email below.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), and passwords are stored using industry-standard salted hashing. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using practices appropriate to the data we hold.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
